Our intent:
At Rosehill Infant & Nursery School we aim to deliver a history curriculum with clear progression and aims throughout each year group. Using the Corner Stone’s curriculum which uses the national curriculum objectives, we aim to deliver seamless, creative, engaging and challenging sequences of lessons, in which the children regularly learn new skills whilst advancing on previously learnt ones each year.
History is taught through various topics, some which focus heavily as its main focus and others that history can be lent to through various cross curricular links. We aim to develop an inquisitive learner, one that is prepared to explore, take risks, make virtuous errors and ask questions about the past, and later evaluate how this affects the future. We implore children to take pride in their topic work books and to take ownership of the work they produce. Work is celebrated on displays and through achievement certificates in assembly.
