Safeguarding

At Rosehill Infant and Nursery School we have a duty to ensure the safety and welfare of our pupils.  We have a dedicated team who  ensure pupils are kept as safe as possible.  If you have any concerns over the safety or wellbeing of a pupil please speak to one of the team.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Kelk and Mrs Kavanagh and you can speak to us at school each day or you can ring 01332 229229  to speak to us on the phone.  Our safeguarding governor is Asif Zaman and can be contacted via admin@rosehill.derby.sch.uk

Our safeguarding policy can be found below, but here is a little information and some useful links for you.

Child protection is defined as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children by:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment;
  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
  • Ensuring children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care: and
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Everyone working in, or for our school, shares an objective to help keep children and young people safe by contributing to:

  • Providing a safe environment for children and young people to learn in education settings;
  • Identifying children who may be in need of extra help, or are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, and taking the appropriate action, working with other services as needed.
