Pupil Voice
At Rosehill Infant School, we really value our children’s ideas and love hearing about their learning. In Design and Technology, we spent time chatting with the children about their experiences in DT lessons, asking them about what they enjoy most, what they have been making, and how they choose materials and tools for their work. We also explored how they feel about their finished products, what they might improve next time, and what they feel they have learned along the way. We are delighted to share a snapshot of their responses, which show their enthusiasm, creativity and growing confidence in Design and Technology.
"In DT we make things using fun materials and tools. I used a saw and it was amazing."
"I love working with my friends then we can help each other out."
"In Year One, we made moon buggies, it actually moved when we pushed it."
" We made a Ferris wheel, we chose the materials by checking if they were strong enough. We watched a video to help us with how to make our Ferris wheel."
"I want to make my Ferris wheel better by adding lights. "
"In DT I have learnt the stronger the material or the thicker the layers are then the product would be more stable."
"I have learnt that by adding too much tape, it doesn't make things stick better. We have to think about how to add the tape."
"I learnt to use a saw, I thought it was going to be easy but it was hard!"
